LG is promoting its latest OLED evo AI televisions as more than premium displays, arguing that built-in artificial intelligence can reduce the time and effort involved in finding something to watch. A new campaign video shows the TV surfacing personalised recommendations so viewers can spend less time searching through menus.

The message forms part of LG’s 2026 “Free up your mind” campaign, which presents AI as a way to handle routine decisions in the background. For television users, that means using viewing preferences and on screen tools to bring relevant content forward rather than requiring repeated searches across apps.

AI moves from picture processing to content discovery

LG has used AI in televisions for years to adjust picture and sound, but its 2026 webOS experience places greater emphasis on personalisation and conversational access. On supported models, an AI button opens an AI Hub where viewers can ask questions, receive recommendations and reach compatible assistant services.

The features sit alongside the core display technology in models such as the OLED evo G6 and C6. LG’s Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen3 is designed to refine sharpness, texture, brightness and audio in real time. Model dependent features include Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Filmmaker Mode and gaming support at up to 4K and 165Hz.

Convenience depends on data and local support

Personalised recommendations are only useful when they reflect a household’s interests, and that generally requires profiles, viewing history or other usage information. Users should review account, recommendation and privacy controls, particularly on a television shared by several people.

Availability will also vary by country, model, language and streaming service. Some AI assistants or content integrations may not be offered in every market, and recommendations cannot include titles from services that are unsupported or unavailable to the viewer.

Smart TVs compete to become more proactive

LG’s campaign reflects a broader change in the television market. Picture quality remains central, but manufacturers increasingly want the screen to understand requests, organise entertainment and recommend the next action. The real test will be whether these systems save time without making the experience feel intrusive or narrowing discovery too aggressively.
