Galbot is positioning its G1 as an embodied AI robot built to perform physical work in structured, real-world environments. Rather than walking on two legs, the machine uses a 360-degree omnidirectional wheeled base, prioritising stable, quiet and fast movement across flat indoor surfaces.
The design gives G1 a broad working range. A height-adjustment mechanism works with its long-reach manipulator to cover tasks from floor level up to 2.4 metres, while its arm can reach as far as 1.9 metres horizontally. Galbot says the system can handle payloads of up to 10 kilograms, making it suitable for moving products, containers and workplace materials.

Hands built for different objects
G1’s modular hand can switch between mechanical grippers and pneumatic suction tools. This allows the robot to choose between a firm grip and a gentler method for handling objects with different shapes, surfaces and levels of fragility. EVA-based impact protection is intended to reduce damage during everyday operation.
Behind those movements is Galbot’s Embosar embodied intelligence architecture. The system combines visual, audio and 3D perception to build a changing model of its surroundings, recognise targets, interpret spoken requests and plan actions based on the scene. An automotive-grade XCU and NPU computing architecture is designed to support secure, real-time control.
Galbot lists up to eight hours of operating time and autonomous return-to-charge capability. The enclosure carries an IP54 rating, offering protection against dust and splashing water, while a 6.25-inch display provides information and on-site controls for people working alongside the robot.
The company highlights several possible uses. In manufacturing and warehouses, G1 can move materials and perform picking or placement tasks. In pharmacies, it can retrieve and deliver supplies. Retail deployments could include shelf replenishment, product transport and customer interaction, while Galbot also presents the platform as capable of assisting with routine work in homes.
A practical alternative to walking humanoids
G1 reflects a broader shift in robotics towards machines designed around useful reach, reliable movement and repeatable manipulation rather than human-like walking. Wheels limit where the robot can travel, particularly around stairs or uneven ground, but they can offer greater stability and energy efficiency in stores, clinics and industrial buildings.
Galbot has not published consumer pricing or broad availability details on the product page. Organisations considering G1 must contact the company’s sales team, and real-world value will depend on deployment costs, safety integration and performance outside controlled demonstrations.
