ASUS has officially introduced the ASUS Ascent QN10, a compact AI mini PC that marks the Snapdragon X2 Elite platform’s move beyond laptops and into small-form-factor desktops. Positioned as the world’s first mini PC with an 80 TOPS NPU, the QN10 is designed to run demanding AI experiences locally, giving developers and enterprise teams a desktop-class edge AI system that fits on a desk, in a lab, or behind a display.

ASUS Ascent QN10 is the world’s first 80 TOPS AI mini PC, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite with on-device AI, Copilot+ PC support, Wi-Fi 7, and up to 32GB LPDDR5x memory.

The headline feature is the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, which delivers up to 80 TOPS of dedicated AI processing. Combined with an 18-core Qualcomm Oryon CPU and integrated Qualcomm Adreno GPU, the ASUS Ascent QN10 is pitched at users who need fast local inference, AI-assisted development, model experimentation, and agentic AI workflows without sending every workload to the cloud.

That makes the ASUS AI mini PC particularly relevant for software developers, systems integrators, small businesses, education labs, smart factories, retail deployments, and prosumers who want compact hardware for edge AI, automation, digital signage, business analytics, and machine vision workloads.

The move is significant because Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Series has largely been associated with Windows laptops. With the Ascent QN10, ASUS and Qualcomm are extending that architecture into mini PCs, where performance-per-watt, always-on responsiveness, and local AI acceleration are becoming increasingly important purchasing factors.

ASUS says the QN10 supports Microsoft Copilot+ PC experiences on Windows 11 and gains access to Qualcomm AI Hub, allowing users to download ready-to-use models, deploy applications, and fine-tune workflows. Demonstrations at Microsoft Build 2026 highlighted local AI development with tools such as Visual Studio Code, GitHub Copilot, LLMWare, and AnythingLLM, reinforcing the QN10’s role as a developer-ready edge AI PC.

Despite its compact chassis, the ASUS Ascent QN10 aims to cover the essentials of a modern workstation. ASUS lists support for up to four 4K displays, seven USB ports, HDMI, 2.5G LAN, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0. Memory options reach up to 32GB of LPDDR5x, while M.2 NVMe SSD support gives the system the storage flexibility needed for AI models, large project files, and local datasets.

The connectivity package gives the QN10 appeal beyond a typical home-office mini PC. It can slot into multi-screen productivity setups, developer benches, meeting rooms, retail kiosks, digital signage systems, and industrial environments where space is limited but AI processing needs are growing.

Security, Efficiency, and Edge AI Deployment

Security is another core part of the pitch. The Snapdragon X2 Elite platform includes Qualcomm’s chip-to-cloud security technologies and support for Microsoft Pluton, giving enterprise buyers a stronger foundation for sensitive local AI workloads. ASUS is also leaning on the platform’s efficiency credentials, presenting the QN10 as a cool, quiet alternative to bulkier desktop systems for always-on AI use cases.

Why the ASUS Ascent QN10 Matters for the AI PC Market

The ASUS Ascent QN10 arrives at a moment when the AI PC market is moving from vague branding to measurable hardware capabilities. An 80 TOPS NPU in a mini PC gives developers and organisations a practical way to test private LLM applications, local AI agents, machine vision, automation, and analytics at the edge, without relying exclusively on remote data centres.

For ASUS, the Ascent QN10 is more than another compact desktop; it is a statement about where small-form-factor PCs are heading. With Snapdragon X2 Elite silicon, 80 TOPS of AI acceleration, Copilot+ support, and broad connectivity, the QN10 positions itself as an early reference point for the next generation of AI mini PCs.
